Consultants at the company have more than 60 years of combined experience in the media industry and academia. They consist of former journalists, teachers and communication practitioners with a balanced blend of academic qualifications and industry experience. We feel the combination of practical experience with teaching experience makes for a potent mixture and unique perspective when it comes to delivering training to our clients. Recently, our Chief Consultant was the only representative from the Western Hemisphere at an invaluable International Visitors Leadership Programme on Investigative Journalism sponsored by the United States State Department. The programme brought together top journalists and communication practitioners from 22 countries across the globe for a three-week trek across the United States networking and consulting with leaders in various types of media and communication organizations.

Joel Nanton is passionate about all forms of communication. As the founder and chief consultant at JN Consultants Ltd, he is the brain behind the company’s mission to help clients improve their communication processes and media relations to achieve their goals.  Joel is a former editor and award-winning reporter, having travelled internationally several times, reporting on issues that ranged from politics to business. He last served as editor of the Express Business before transitioning into academia, where he now leads the Department of Journalism and Media at the College of Science, Technology and Applied Arts of Trinidad and Tobago (COSTAATT).  Joel has substantial experience in writing and editing for various forms of media as well as delivering training in media and communications. As the only representative from the western hemisphere on the U.S. International Visitors Leadership Programme 2013 on Investigative Journalism, Joel gained invaluable exposure and networks with more than 22 journalism and communication practitioners from around the globe from almost every continent.
